Job description
We are seeking an experienced Support Service Engineer/Technician to join our team in Bellville. The successful candidate will provide telephonic and web-based support to our branches, technicians, and end-users regarding our products and services.
Due to the nature of our customer base, proficiency in both Afrikaans and English is essential to effectively assist our clients and ensure seamless communication.
Required/recommended qualifications, knowledge and experience:
- Matric / Grade 12 (Required)
- Fluent spoken and written Afrikaans (Required) – This is essential due to the primary language preference of our customers.
- Fluent spoken and written English (Required)
- Experience in telephonic and web-based support in both Afrikaans and English
- Experience in remote troubleshooting
- Ability to read circuit diagrams and panel wiring
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
- Strong integrity and reliability
- Willingness to work overtime and be on rotational standby
- Experience using support software such as Zendesk (advantageous)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide telephonic and web-based support to branches, technicians, and customers
- Monitor customer devices online to facilitate both reactive and proactive maintenance
- Communicate with branch technicians regarding outages and field repairs
- Set up customer devices on our web platform
- Assist with invoicing and billing of customer accounts
- Occasional travel to customer sites and branches as needed
- Train colleagues on relevant courses to enhance team knowledge and minimize downtime

- Code 08 driver’s licence with own transport
- Grade 12 compulsory
- Proficient in Afrikaans (required) and English.
- Honest, punctual, diligent and earnest
- Technically minded
- Willing to work overtime or flexible hours
- Good communication skills – telephone and email
- Technical qualification in electronics/electrical advantageous
- Experience using Zendesk will be advantageous
- Experience with VSD’s (Variable Speed Drives) will be advantageous
