About the role
This role is ideal for a curious, detail-oriented industrial engineer with a strong bias for action, a willingness to learn, and a keen interest in business processes driven by Lean principles, theory of constraints, new technology and heaps of data.
We seek to strengthen our supply chain team with this appointment, focusing on getting our products to customers effectively and efficiently across Southern Africa.
Daily duties include collaboration with internal stakeholders like engineers, sales teams, production teams, IT development team, etc. to optimise distribution processes, improve customer experience and lower costs.
Agrico’s revenue is evenly split, with approximately 50% coming from products we manufacture in-house and 50% from traded goods. Our factories in Cape Town and Lichtenburg are responsible for manufacturing:
- Electronic control systems
- PVC and polyethylene pipe
- Injection-moulded parts
- Cast iron and aluminium valves and fittings
- A wide range of galvanized steel items, including center pivot irrigation systems.
This position will give you exposure to a complex supply chain problem with a view on the whole supply chain (you wont be placed in a silo). This provides for a much larger context to work with in which stimulates growth and opportunities.

Key responsibilities
- Implement new systems: Lead the successful integration of new systems and processes.
- Optimise processes: Identify and fix inefficient processes to boost performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve: Proactively address system and process issues.
- Collaborate and train: Work with teams to ensure smooth adoption and provide user training.
- Monitor performance: Track KPIs to ensure continuous improvement and effectiveness.

- A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering
- Strong interpersonal skills founded on respect for others

- A keen interest in the Toyota Production System and Lean Manufacturing.
