Warehouse Manager – Bellville

Job description

We are looking for someone to manage our central distribution centre warehouse operations in Bellville. With ever increasing buyer power, superior distribution processes are becoming increasingly critical. Join us in our continued pursuit of reaching maximum customer satisfaction at reduced costs.

The ideal candidate must be able to distinguish between important and less important tasks in a fast-paced environment. If you are someone who believes in a systems-driven approach, likes to face challenges head-on and can visualise a better future and make it happen today, we would like to consider your application.

Your mission is to ensure that customer orders are received, stored, picked, packed and dispatched accurately and efficiently, while building the systems and team that make this repeatable at scale. The goal is to deliver an excellent service to the customer at the lowest possible cost to Agrico.

Responsibilities

Help us achieve maximum customer satisfaction at reduced costs and increased profit through the following:

  • Management of all warehouse operations: receiving, storage, picking, packing and dispatch across multiple product categories.
  • Stock accuracy and integrity: every warehouse under your command must reflect the truth at all times.
  • Labour management: staffing requirements, shift planning, performance management and team development.
  • Continuous improvement: design and implementation of new processes, systems and ideas.
  • Housekeeping and safety maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.

Job requirements

  • 3 to 5 years experience in a warehouse or distribution environment, with demonstrated leadership responsibility.
  • Systematically orientated.
  • Goal-oriented (The task is completed when the problem is solved and not when the first action is performed / PDCA).
  • Good understanding of supply chain and logistics.
  • Comfortable with data — you should be able to interrogate a number and make decisions based on evidence.

The following will count in your favour

  • A degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related qualification.
  • Good understanding of Lean Processes and Toyota Production System.
  • Good understanding of databases and T-SQL.
  • Proficient in both Afrikaans and English (written and oral).
  • Some programming experience.
  • Experience in agricultural distribution or FMCG logistics.
  • Eager to learn and driven.
